Aufgaben

Job Summary

As part of WuXi Biologics emergence into the European markets, we are seeking an Associate Director Financial Reporting & Controlling to provide financial reporting, compliance and controlling support for WuXi subsidiary in Germany.

This position is part of a new team of finance professionals being established to support a major investment by the WuXi Group in Germany. The successful candidate will be working in an innovative, fast-growing biopharmaceutical industry.

This leader will collaborate closely with Headquarter Accounting and the broader finance teams, and they will ensure our financial systems, procedures and controls are in place to scale our business and support our vision and enable our growth. It covers multiple financial areas around accounting, treasury, tax, and statutory compliance activities as well as leading monthly financial close processes, preparing financial analyses and reporting of results and other key performance metrics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • You will play a leadership role in all aspects of financial reporting including month end closing, statutory reporting, cashflow & financial forecasting, and analytical activities for our businesses ensuring all financial reporting is delivered from your team.
  • Ensure compliance with key controls and audit requirements including close coordination with both external and internal auditors.
  • Control and documentation of intercompany relationships and ensure compliance with legal regulations.
  • Ensure proactive controlling of direct & indirect costs, capex, corporate allocations and reporting of same
  • Drive the necessary initiatives and plans to monitor and control risk and maintain compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Collaborate with your team and other stakeholders in developing a roadmap for automation and transformation of our accounting processes.
  • Manage and coach a team of high performing accountants that drives insights, design, and accounting processes that support WuXi Germany
  • Support the "Lean Finance" approach and contribute continuous improvement recommendations on process improvements.

Profil

Knowledge

  • 8+ years of progressive experience of increasing responsibility performing duties within financial reporting, general ledger, and statutory compliance.
  • Experience working in a finance function of a multinational manufacturing environment is preferable.
  • Experience in international accounting with a focus on IFRS and reconciliation to HGB.
  • Experienced in accounting regulations according to HGB and in tax financial statements according to German law.
  • Experience leading transformation projects, systems, and process improvements essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP FICO is essential.
  • Tax compliance experience is essential.
  • Excellent skills in Excel.
  • A broad business acumen and operational experience an advantage.
  • Proven record of leading high performing teams and developing team members.
  • Experienced in working with international teams and good intercultural competence.
  • Good written and spoken English is an essential requirement.
  • Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance (or other relevant/equivalent qualification) is essential.
  • Certified international accountant IHK (or other relevant/equivalent qualification) is essential.
